Yogi Adityanath was born Ajay Mohan Singh Bisht on 5 June 1972 on the land of Panchur village, Uttarakhand Pauri Garhwal district. This place was in Uttar Pradesh at that time but it is now in Uttarakhand.
He was born in a Rajput family where his father used to work as a forest ranger. He is the second child of all seven children in his family.
He has three more brothers and three sisters. His father got died due to chronic illness in AIIMS, New Delhi on 20 April 2020.

How Ajay Mohan Singh Bisht changed to Yogi Aditya Nath.
He was born as Ajay Mohan Singh Bisht. Ajay Mohan Singh Bisht after completing his education joined the Ayodhya Ram temple movement in the 1990s. At that time he was 21 years old. On this journey, he meets the Mahant Avaidyanath who is the high priest of the Gorakh-Nath Math. Mahant Avaidyanath wanted to hand over his duties to his disciple in his absence. He was searching for his disciple to who he can hand over all his duties.
The day come when on October 1993, Mahant Avaidyanath got admitted to the hospital due to a heart issue. At the age of 21 when Yogi Adityanath was Ajay went to meet hospitalized Mahant Avaidyanath.
The saffron-robed Monk looked at him and told that he had dedicated all his life to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. He is conscious to know that what will happen to the movement after his death. He wanted to make him a disciple so that after his death he can hand over all his duties to him.
After this incident, Ajay contributed his life towards the mission of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya and went to Gorkhnath to become his disciple without getting known to his family members. After six months they come to know that Ajay has become Yogi Adityanath and contributed his life to the Ayodhya ram mandir movement. He becomes a yogi and become a disciple of Mahant Avaidyanath on 15 Feb 1994.
After the death of Mahant Avaidyanath, he served in the position of Gorakhnath Math since September 2014. He also founded the Hindu Yuva Vahini the Hindu nationalist organization Hindu Yuva Vahini, for influencing more youth.
Yogi’s step into a political career:
- In the 1980s, Sangh Parivar and BJP both come together for the Ayodhya movement. In 1991, Avaidyanath switched to the BJP and made Yogi Adityanath his disciple to elect the election.
- In 1994, He become the Mahant of Gorakhnath math after the death of his guru Avaidyanath.
- In 1998 he was elected as a member of the Lok Sabha parliament house. After his first victory, he formed the Hindu Yuva Vahini, Yogi Adityanath’s Youth wing.
- He becomes the youngest member of the parliament and win the Lok Sabha five times on the 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th in 1988, 1999, 2004, 2009, and 2014 respectively.
- In the 16th Lok- Sabha which was held in 2014, he defeated Rajmati Nishad of the Samajwadi Party.
- In 2017 Aditya Yogi Nath was a prominent member of the BJP. After winning the election by the BJP he was elected as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh on 18 March 2017.
