Gufi Paintal Background, Family, wife, and Education.

Gufi Paintal was born on 4 October 1944 as Sarabjeet Singh Paintal. He was born into a Sikh family in the village of Tarn Taran of Amritsar Punjab. His father Gurucharan Paintal is a well-known cameraman. He also has one younger brother Kanwarjit Paintal who was born 4 years later on 22 August 1948. They their early life part in Sadar Bazaar, Delhi.  To pursue his passion for acting he joined the Film and Television Institute of India (FTTI) in 2008.

Gufi Paintal Married Rekha Paintal. They had stable and long-lasting married life. The couple gave birth to their son Harry Paintal. All the happiness of the family got vanish when Rekha Pintal died in 1993 due to a heart attack.

Gufi Paintal has only one son Harry Paintal who followed his father’s footprints and become an actor. He did his first debut in the movie Hum Dil de Chuke Sanam(1999) movie as Haresh. Harry Paintal married Sheetal and have a daughter name, Sarah Paintal. Sarah Paintal granddaughter of Gufi Paintal also known as a child artist. She plays the role of Radha in the serial haathi-ghoda-paalki-jai-kanhaiya-laal-ki.

Before stepping into the acting career, he worked in the Indian Army in 1962. He was studying Engineering at that time and Sino-India War is going on during those time. Government recruits the army and he was deployed at the Indo-China border. At the border, there were no gadgets for entertainment so they used to play Ramleela and he used to play the role of Seeta, this incident shows that he was always fond of acting. He remains in the army for 7 years.

In 1968 left the army and to pursue his passion for acting Gufi Paintal decided to live in Mumbai and step into Mumbai with big dreams in 1978. He becomes the assistant director with the help of his brother Kanwarjit Paintal. He did his first debut in the movie Dillagi(1978) as Ganesh after that he appeared in the movie “Des Pardes” (1978)

He gains popularity for the role of Shakuni Mama in Mahabharat (1980). 1980 Mahabharat was produced by B.R. Chopra. Gufi Paintal is regarded as the pillar of the B.R. Chopra camp who helps to get an actor for the Mahabharat.

He also directed the Movie Shri Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu movie (2008). He is regarded as a multitalented personality as worked as an associate director, casting director as well production designer with B.R. Films.

Gufi Paintal death

He was suffering from blood pressure as well as heart issues due to his aged factors for a long time, as he turns too old about 79 years. He got admitted to the hospital on May 31 in suburban Andheri but he could not survive and passed away at 9 am as he is about to pass 79 years of his age.
