The reason behind his name from Shukla to Muntashir.

In one of the radio interviews, he clarifies the reason for changing his name. He told that after starting poetry he need a name that look unique. He feels that Shukla does not have that impact, that is why he chose Muntashir which means ‘scattered soul’. To make his name unique in the world of poetry he changed his name from Manoj Shukla to Manjoj Muntashir. Manoj Muntashir is the only name that exists in the poetry world.

Early Life.

He was born on 27 February 1976 in the small town of Gauriganj of Amethi city in Uttar Pradesh, India. He hails from a Brahmin family. His father earns from farming, and his mother supports the family through teaching. He does not have any siblings. He is the single child of his parents. From a very young age, he used to write poetry.

He did his early schooling at the local school of Amethi. Later, he completed his secondary education at the HAL School Korwa, Amethi, Uttar Pradesh.

University Education.

He pursued his graduate degree in BSC from Allahabad University in 1999. After completing his graduation he went to Mumbai in search of work.

There is not much information about Manoj Shukla’s mother but according to some resources it was found that she is a teacher. At the time when his family was suffering from the financial crisis. She used to take tuition for 500 rs and support Manoj Shukla’s education and home needs.

Neelam Muntashir is a wife of Manoj Muntashir. She also worked as a songwriter. The couple has a child Aaru Muntashir.

In the Kapil Sharma show he told that his first marriage was broken due to his career. He was going to marry on 13 May 1997. The bride’s brother come to him one month before of marriage and asked about his career plan. He told his brother-in-law that he will become a full-time lyricist. After that marriage got broken.

Destiny had the other plan now he married Neelam and have good looking son Aaru. He is living a happy married life.

Manoj Muntashir Career Path

  • After graduating from Allahabad University, he started working in All India Radio and earn a salary of Rs 135.
  • The small amount of Rs 135 was not enough for him. He decided to shift to Mumbai in search of better opportunities. There he was offered for writing bhajans for Rs 3000 by Anoop Jalota.
  • After that in 2005 Actor Amitabh Bachchan offered to him to write the script for the Kaun Banega Crorepati. This opportunity was a great turning point in his career. After that, he got a Chance to write scripts for television reality shows like  India’s Got Talent, Indian Idol Junior, and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
  • Later on, he got the opportunity to write the lyrics for the 4 tracks of the movie  ‘U, Bomsi n Me’ (2005). He got a number of opportunities for writing lyrics some of which are below.

Controversies

Boycott Award shows:

Manoj Muntashir boycotted the awards shows after his song “Teri Mitti” from the movie Kesari was nominated for the best lyrics award in the film fair award show of 2022. But the song fail to win the award instead Gully boy song Apna Time Aayega’ won the best lyrics awards. This scenario disappointed him and he took a vow not to attain any award function further.

plagiarism of Teri Mitti song:

Accusations were filed against Manoj Muntashir that he copy the song ” Teri Mitti” of Kesari from the song “Kar Chale Hum Fida” of  Haqeeqat’movie.

Raising hate between religions.

In 2021 he posted a video on Twitter with the title ““Who are your ancestors?”. In this video, he called the Mughals ‘dacoits’. After this statement in his video, he was criticized of being hurting the sentiments of the Muslim community.

Adipurush controversy:

In 2023 he was criticized for writing some dialogue for the Adipurush movie. It is claimed that dialogues written by him for the Hanuman hurt the sentiments of the Hindu religion. Dialogue written for Adipurush movie by him is insulting history of Ramayan.
